I’ve been out of school longer than I care to remember, but I hear its spring break for many people. Easter weekend is coming…so that sounds about right. I finally made it to the beach over the weekend, there were so many people from so many places enjoying the warm, sandy beach. My afternoon in the sun inspired me to bring a beach look for the ladies, check out UrbanMall.com’s spring break looks…

Not only does Kid Cudi make dope music, he has an original style and a keen eye for fashion. He’s not one of those hip hop dudes rocking basic jeans and tees, Cudi puts a different level thought and creativity into his look. Reminiscent of Kanye and Pharell, Cudi borrows inspiration from punks and skateboarders, basing his look around slim pants, nerd glasses, lots of plaid, and bold mens’ accessories. I know the skinny jean-plaid look isn’t for everyone, but if this is your steez, check out a few UrbanMall.com picks for Kid Cudi inspired style.

While catching up on my daily urban gossip fix, I spotted a flick of Teairra Mari leaving Katsuya in LA looking super cute in a pair of shiny leggings, a tee, and military jacket. Remember Teairra from a few years back? She came out on Def Jam in 2005 around the same time as Rhianna. Rhianna blew up while Teairra Mari fell into the shadows. Teairra Mari is making a comeback in 2010, with her new single “Sponsor” featuring Gucci Mane and Soulja Boy. The song is pretty hot! And so is the look we’ve pulled together for you at UrbanMall.com. Check out these pieces inspired my Teairra Mari’s dinner look.
Hint: Cut the collar off the tee and don a pretty bra to get cleavage action like Teiarra Mari has going in this look. Thank me later, after all those free drinks!

Jumpers, onesies, rompers…whatever you want to call them, one-piece outfits are very NOW. All our favorite urban celebrities are rocking jumpsuits, but no one is rocking them like Kanye West’s boo, Amber Rose. This chick has a body made for form-fitting one-piece outfits.. If I had a body like hers, catsuits would be my signature look too!
You don’t have to be a super bootylicious rap star’s girlfriend to pull off the one-piece look. UrbanMall.com brings you some featured pieces to update your look..check it out!

The military look is really hot right now. Last week Beyonce was spotted courtside at the Knicks game with hubby Jay-Z rocking Balmain camoflauge pants, military blazer, and studded pumps. Most of us don’t have a Balmain clothing budget, but we can still take inspiration from Beyonce’s look to rock the military style for ourselves. They key to effectively wearing military style is to not go overboard with it, using colors, patterns, and elements of military style to pull the look together without looking like you are about to hop off a tanker and head to battle. Grommets, studs, military insignia, and colors such as tan, olive, brown and navy are the way to go.
UrbanMall.com has some great military inspired pieces to choose from.

Toi, you are the ” Martha Stewart” of the hip hop world. I love how you picked Beyonce’s look and took it downtown…..bigstew

Fellas, one of the first things a girl looks at when you step to her are your shoes. If your kicks are busted, the likelihood of getting any play will be minimal at best. You better have a hell of a personality to make up for those busted kicks!
But if you’re reading this post, I’m guessing you’re a fly dude. And fly dudes rock fly shoes. Check out some selections from UrbanMall.

We’re in the midst of fashion week in major fashion markets across the world – New York, Paris, Milan, and Los Angeles. Designers are showcasing their latest designs, setting forth the trends that we’ll be seeing in stores in upcoming seasons.
While these high fashion runway shows provide inspiration to fashionistas across the world, I for one am inspired by the runways of everyday life…sidewalks. Street fashion.
People on the street inspire my style in ways that the runways simply can’t compare to. I love to see the twist everyday people put on mainstream fashion trends. Skinny pants with knee high boots. Shorts and tights. Baggy jeans and fitteds, or tons and tons of chains. It’s intriguing to see how people pair items together in ways I would never think of and to observe the random pieces they choose to don. Street fashion is inspiring because its individual, its unique, and its not a copycat of pieces from the runways that will be duplicated and mass-marketed in stores.
What inspires you? High fashion? Street fashion? Both? Tell me what you think!

Bigstew says ” Toi, you have vision…that’s why I rely on you to help me keep one eye on the runway…so that guy’s don’t all dress the same!” Meanwhile, you’all should head to UrbanMall, visit Drjays and DJPremium, and see how fashion reflects.
