Miss Sixty Orange Mod Dress

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

Never underestimate the power of color. Certain hues are known to brighten your mood, and can have a direct effect on how you are perceived. Rocking a bright color maxi dress like this one from Miss Sixty gives off a flirty, fun, and feminine vibe. This dress would be perfect for an afternoon lunch with your boo, or over a swimsuit at the beach with your girls. Accentuate it with a simple pair of hoops and a bohemian bracelet, and flowy hair. Spring Urban Fashion Trend: Military Style

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

The military look is really hot right now. Last week Beyonce was spotted courtside at the Knicks game with hubby Jay-Z rocking Balmain camoflauge pants, military blazer, and studded pumps. Most of us don’t have a Balmain clothing budget, but we can still take inspiration from Beyonce’s look to rock the military style for ourselves. They key to effectively wearing military style is to not go overboard with it, using colors, patterns, and elements of military style to pull the look together without looking like you are about to hop off a tanker and head to battle. Grommets, studs, military insignia, and colors such as tan, olive, brown and navy are the way to go.

UrbanMall.com has some great military inspired pieces to choose from.

Toi, you are the ” Martha Stewart” of the hip hop world. I love how you picked Beyonce’s look and took it downtown…..bigstew
