We’re in the midst of fashion week in major fashion markets across the world – New York, Paris, Milan, and Los Angeles. Designers are showcasing their latest designs, setting forth the trends that we’ll be seeing in stores in upcoming seasons.
While these high fashion runway shows provide inspiration to fashionistas across the world, I for one am inspired by the runways of everyday life…sidewalks. Street fashion.
People on the street inspire my style in ways that the runways simply can’t compare to. I love to see the twist everyday people put on mainstream fashion trends. Skinny pants with knee high boots. Shorts and tights. Baggy jeans and fitteds, or tons and tons of chains. It’s intriguing to see how people pair items together in ways I would never think of and to observe the random pieces they choose to don. Street fashion is inspiring because its individual, its unique, and its not a copycat of pieces from the runways that will be duplicated and mass-marketed in stores.
What inspires you? High fashion? Street fashion? Both? Tell me what you think!
